Airport Gardermoen - AEDs save lives
Oslo Airport Gardermoen is Norway’s largest traffic hub with over 25 million travellers annually. The airport has taken significant steps to ensure the safety of its visitors with the installation of 50 AEDs across the airport.
“The cabinets make our defibrillators highly visible. Our defibrillators have been used many times since they were installed.”
Over 40 life saving AEDs placed over Norway's main Airport
For Odd-Runar Elstad, placing life-saving defibrillators at Gardermoen Airport was a no-brainer. Over 40 AEDs have been installed in the terminal, and another 8 in administrative buildings to protect employees. The placement is part of a carefully thought-out safety system.
'‘It is only natural that we have installed defibrillators in an area with so many visitors and high activity.’'
All defibrillators are placed in Rotaid cabinets, acquired via the official Norwegian partner Rode Kors Forstehjelp. ‘They are highly visible, easy to open, and they have space for both defibrillators and emergency kits with necessary equipment’, says Odd-Runar. ‘We are very satisfied with the solution.’
Making a difference
The cabinets make the defibrillators so visible that first aiders can be easily found. Many AEDs have been used since they were installed and saved lives of our customers.
