Cricket Victoria Offers AED Grants to Community Clubs

Staying Alive Health and Cricket Victoria have renewed their partnership to
bring heart-safe environments to cricket clubs across Victoria. Affiliated
clubs can now apply for a fully funded Community Heart Safe Grant worth more
than $15,000, covering a Rotaid 24/7 AED cabinet, accredited first aid
training, and ongoing community support.

Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, at any time. On the cricket pitch,
surrounded by teammates but often far from emergency services, the stakes are
especially high. Community sports clubs welcome thousands of players, coaches,
volunteers, and supporters each season, yet many remain without a publicly
accessible defibrillator. Survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest can rise
from approximately 10% to between 50 and 70% when a shock is delivered within
the first three to five minutes. Having a defibrillator close by makes all
the difference.

Staying Alive Health and Cricket Victoria team up for heart-safe clubs

Through the renewed partnership, Cricket Victoria affiliated clubs can apply
for the Community Heart Safe Grant, a fully funded package valued at more than
$15,000. Successful clubs receive a Rotaid 24/7
AED cabinet, fully monitored and publicly accessible at all hours, alongside
accredited first aid training and ongoing support to help maintain a heart-safe
environment. Designed for permanent outdoor installation, the Rotaid 24/7 is
available whether training is underway or the grounds are quiet. With a limited
number of grant allocations on offer, eligible Cricket Victoria affiliated clubs
are encouraged to register their interest and submit an application before
30 September.

We are proud to see our partner Staying Alive Health bring this initiative to
grassroots sport across Victoria. The Rotaid 24/7
cabinet is built for 24-hour public access, connected to smart monitoring
services that allow clubs to be confident their equipment is always ready.
Every grant awarded brings another community closer to being genuinely heart
safe, not just during matches, but at any moment it matters most.
