Fischamend Takes a Heart-Safe Step Forward
A shared vision for a safer community is becoming reality in Fischamend, Austria.
As part of the HERZsicher Fischamend initiative, the first six publicly accessible AED locations have now been installed, making life-saving defibrillation equipment available to residents and visitors when it matters most.
In the event of sudden cardiac arrest, every minute counts. Early CPR combined with rapid access to an AED can significantly improve the chances of survival. By making AEDs accessible in public locations, Fischamend is taking an important step towards creating a community where help is always closer at hand.
From an idea to a life-saving network
The installation of the first six AED locations marks an important milestone for the HERZsicher Fischamend project. But the initiative is about more than simply placing defibrillators throughout the town. It is about bringing together the municipality, emergency responders, local businesses, organisations and residents to take collective responsibility for public safety.
The project has been made possible through the commitment and cooperation of numerous partners, including the municipality of Fischamend, HABEL Medizintechnik and ZOLL, the Augsberger family, Vienna International Airport and Elektro Ramiz.
The initiative has also received valuable support from donors and numerous local companies and tradespeople from Fischamend and the surrounding area. Their contribution has helped transform an ambitious idea into a practical network designed to make a real difference in an emergency.
Making AED access part of the community
With six locations now equipped, Fischamend is already becoming more HERZsicher — or heart-safe. The publicly accessible AEDs provide an important additional layer of emergency preparedness, ensuring that life-saving equipment is positioned closer to the people who may need it.
