AED Donated in Memory of Luca Bartolozzi

An AED donation has made the municipal sports ground of Vicchio, a small town in Tuscany, a safer place for everyone who uses it. The Bartolozzi family and the staff of cooperative Megip donated the defibrillator to local sports club ASD Sandro Vignini, in loving memory of Luca Bartolozzi.

The club's board

“Luca's memory will live on through this gift that protects our sporting family.”

A family's gift makes Vicchio's sports ground heart-safe

Every week, the sports facility of ASD Sandro Vignini welcomes children, young athletes, families and volunteers. Like any place where people exercise, it is also a place where sudden cardiac arrest can strike without warning. Quick access to a defibrillator is then the difference between life and death, with survival chances dropping by roughly ten percent for every minute that passes without help.

That is why the donation announced in May 2026 means so much to this community. Rather than a private tribute, the Bartolozzi family and the staff of Megip Soc Coop Arl chose to honour Luca's memory with something that protects others. The new AED has been installed next to the entrance of the clubhouse bar at the municipal sports ground and is already fully operational.

Stories like this one show what drives the mission behind every Rotaid AED cabinet: making defibrillators visible, accessible and ready at the places where people live, play and come together. Sports grounds are among the locations where public AED access saves the most lives, and every community that takes this step brings a heart-safe society a little closer.
