A lifesaver on a mountain top - TRYG
Mountain high AED management
Tryg Forsikring is one of the largest suppliers in the Nordic market for general insurance. The Norwegian branch of the company has done many projects to give back to Norwegian communities. One of them: installing heart-safe zones with 24/7 accessible AEDs. In Bergen, several trailing routes in the mountains are equipped with life-saving devices.
Throughout the year, several hundreds of thousands of people use the city mountains, and accidents or cardiac arrests can occur. It will take time for paramedics or a helicopter to reach the scene if something happens on a mountain top. Therefore, remote life-saving equipment is a must in these areas.
“Cardiac arrest can happen at any time. Especially in the mountains, which people use at all times of the day, it is important that life-saving equipment is available regardless of the time.”
Tryg Forsikring Norge cares
Our initiative increases the chance of saving lives considerably, especially considering how difficult it can be to get medical personnel up to the mountain tops. For Tryg Forsikring Norge, it was very obvious to play a part in supplying these AEDs.

Life saving AEDs on mountain tops
In the mountains of Fløyen, Løvstakken and at Damsgård, AEDs were installed on the mountain. Rotaid 24/7 ensures easy monitoring, even when AEDs are placed on mountain tops. From the city centre, it takes just a few seconds to check if all AEDs are working and ready for deployment. Something that would take hours without this remote monitoring as it would require us to visit them on a regular basis.
With the defibrillators installed at strategic locations on Fløyen, Løvstakken and at Damsgård, the hope is that both local residents and visitors will be able to use the city mountains and the city with extra security. With this initiative, Tryg shows how important it is to have life-saving equipment available.
