Rome becomes a heart safe city for the 2025 Jubilee

Rome - Italy

During the 2025 Jubilee, more than 35 million catholics will make a pilgrimage to Italy's capital during the Holy Year and will be welcomed and hosted by the proud citizens of Rome. To ensure the best possible preparedness for medical emergencies, Rome will be equipped with 350 AEDs placed on strategic locations all over the city centre. Furthermore, 2000 people will be trained in Basic Life Support to create a vast and dedicated network of life savers.

350 Rotaid 247 Connected Cabinets will be placed at strategic locations all over Rome's inner city.

On March 7th 2025, the press conference to present the cardioprotection project was held at the Borgo XVIII Police Station of the State Police, in Piazza Cavour 3, Rome.
The Borgo Police Station, the event's safety epicentre, welcomed institutional figures, healthcare workers and technical partners, all determined to make Rome an increasingly cardio-protected city.

“It is a privilege to be able to collaborate on this initiative that makes Rome a reference model for cardioprotection, especially considering the large influx of pilgrims expected during the Jubilee period. Spreading the culture of first aid and guaranteeing quality devices is an integral part of our daily commitment.”
