Swedish celebrities support initiative to save lives
Hjärtuppropet is an initiative which creates a tremendous amount of awareness about sudden cardiac arrest. Led by ex-ambulance paramedic Björn Jadeland, it has a major focus on making AEDs available 24 hours a day and learning people CPR. By using top tier Swedish ambassadors, a lot of attention is drawn to the subject of sudden cardiac arrest, all over Sweden and in all age groups.

Hjärtuppropet is also focused on placing AEDs where the cardiac arrest really happen. Björn Jadeland, initiator of Hjärtuppropet mentions: ‘’The existing AEDs need to be available – not like today, where 9 out of 10 AEDs are not 24 hours a day available. 10 out of 10 AEDs should be available at any time of the day.’’
Hjärtuppropet is supported by nearly 20 Swedish celebrities, ranging from public figures, singers and athletes to ensure the message is widely spread. Björn also mentions the partnerships with big organisations such as Flying Tiger Copenhagen, HÖFAB and several universities: ‘’A Heart Friendly Partner helps us spread our three main purposes, so that awareness is increased and more lives are saved. Partners set the example and take on social responsibility.’’

Moving AEDs outside and placing them unlocked at high traffic locations. ‘’Our initiative focuses on long-term solutions for public access defibrillation. It is only the beginning of this great initiative and we are very proud to be part of this project. It will definitely help save the lives of many Swedes, now and in the future.
