Cancún International becomes a heart safe airport
Cancún International, Mexico's second largest airport, has been officially certified as a heartsafe aiport. With over 63 AEDs installed over its 4 terminal buildings, administrative offices, handling area and parking lots, it now provides an ever safer environment for the 30 million passengers it welcomes every year.
Next to the AED installations, a total of 1200 people were trained in CPR and AED and 45 were trained in BLS ensuring maximum preparedness for a sudden cardiac arrest on the airport.
With this level of preparation and commitment, Cancún International Airport has been officially certified as a Sitio Cardioprotegido.
Heartsafe everywhere
Apart from the terminals, commercial, handling and administrative areas, the airport has also installed the life saving equipment on outdoor venues, like its parking lot and transit areas.
The high ingress protection and advanced monitoring capabilities of Rotaid cabinets were crucial for partner Cardioproteccion to fulfill all of the airport's needs for storage and visibility of the AEDs.
